Installation and deployment options

Cyprob runs on your own virtual machine. You import the OVA image or install the same product from an apt repository. The product runs at full function without internet access.

Two ways to install

The prepared OVA image is imported into your virtualisation environment and configures itself on first boot. Institutions that prefer package management install the same product with apt on their own operating system. Both paths end at a scanning platform that runs inside your infrastructure and depends on nothing outside it.

What changes on a disconnected network

Nothing. The product works with full function without reaching the internet. Catalog and software updates are downloaded as signed packages, carried into the closed network on physical media, and verified inside before they are applied. A package that fails signature verification is not installed.

Service provider deployment

For managed service providers the control plane is installed redundantly in the provider's own infrastructure, and only a worker sits on the customer side. The service provider page covers this model in detail.

Common questions

Is there a functional difference between the OVA and apt installs?

No. Both install the same components and end in the same place: a scanning platform on your own infrastructure with no outside dependency.

Does the product need internet access?

No. It runs at full function on a disconnected network. Updates arrive as signed packages, are carried in physically and are verified before they are applied.

What changes in a service provider deployment?

The control plane runs redundantly on the provider's infrastructure and only scan workers sit on the customer side. There is no management console in the customer environment.
